Lets take a closer look at Bones. Bones has many features you would expect from a wordpress development theme. It’s only about 246kb in size, includes two different stylesheets and comes with five plug-in like functions (page navi, related posts, etc.). These features combined with the fact that Bones is frequently updated make it a no-brainer. This theme includes everything you need to start developing your own wordpress themes.

This theme is not limited to using the folder you downloaded it in. For instance, you can rename the folder to reflect the theme name you are developing. I know some of you are say, “Are all themes not this way?”. The answer is no. If you change the name of a theme folder to something like “custom_theme” then you might be in trouble.
