What is a SEO Search Engine Results Page (SERP)?

Search Engine Results Page ImageA search engine results page (SERP), is the listing of web pages returned by a search engine in response to a keyword query. The results normally include a list of web pages with titles, a link to the page, and a short description showing where the keywords have matched content within the page. A SERP may refer to a single page of links returned, or to the set of all links returned for a search query.

You would be surprised how many times I have to explain this to a client. They think that the “paid” search results on the side of Google’s SERP page is SEO. I tell them it is “pay-per-click” advertising and any body can guarantee them the number 1 spot there! All you have to do is pay more money and outbid your competitors! Thanks for reading my blog!
